Tesla Cars Have Driven More than 500 Million Miles

This is something that Tesla should have talked about in last week’s “D-Day” announcement.  To me it was more impressive than AWD in the Model S or Autopilot.

On Wednesday, October 15, Elon Musk tweeted that as a fleet, all Teslas have driven more than 500 million miles.  That’s huge.

That’s 100 million miles more than the Chevy Volt fleet.  The Volts achieved 400 million cumulative miles back in February of 2014.

The Nissan Leaf fleet reached 429 million cumulative miles in late January of 2014.

All have been around since 2008.  Tesla began delivering Roadsters in 2008, and only built 2,500.  They began delivering the Model S in 2012.  Evidently Tesla drivers rack up the miles…
