Drag Race Friday: Tesla Model S v. Modded Cadillac CTS-V
The things that must be done to beat a Tesla off the line are incredible. Here’s another race from our friends at Drag Times.com. This one features a Tesla Model S against a Cadillac CTS-V, a very fast car production car. However, this Caddy is mechanically pimped out. From DragTimes.com:
Quarter mile run at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL on June 14, 2013. 2012 Tesla Model S Performance (100% stock) running against a 2009 Cadillac CTS-V with the following upgrades (609 HP): Corsa exhaust, American Racing Headers, ECU tune, cold air intake, heat exchanger, upper and lower pulley swap.
The Tesla ran a respectable 12.53 seconds but couldn’t keep up with the CTS-V which ran 11.75 seconds and kept pulling away.
A decent race between two very different American made sedans. One is very powerful, quiet, and burns no gas. The other is very powerful, very loud, and burns lots of gas. Both are great fun!
Tesla loses the race to this Robo-Caddy, but holds its own. Again.
