32 Days to Launch: Formula-E Holds Race Simulation at Donington Park

Earlier today, Formula-E held 2 mass simulations of an e-Prix.  Every driver, car, team, official, broadcast team, IT guy, and track staffer was on hand to simulate a race.  No crowds, this time.

Lots of things went wrong. Which was exactly what everyone wanted.

These tests will help prepare Formula-E for the nitty gritty of the upcoming inaugural season.  Alejandro Agag, the CEO of Formula-E put it best:

“Putting on a major sporting event in the heart of cities around the world is a massive undertaking and requires careful preparation. We want the Formula E Beijing ePrix to a fantastic spectacle, which is why we’re leaving nothing to chance by rigorously testing all the systems beforehand. Overall we’re very pleased with how things went.”

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a major sport launch a new series.  We’re being reminded of how much work and planning goes into these events.
