Watch a Formula-E Mid-Race Car Swap
Formula-E begins in Beijing on September 13th. If you’re a green car person, you know that this is the newest Formula series and features all-electric vehicles. Here’s the Formula-E website, if you’re interested in perusing.
Among the unique characteristics of the series is the mid-race car swap. Where some would think you simply change batteries, Formula-E requires the driver to change cars. Some of it I’m sure is safety-based. Some of it is the “X” factor of tuning 2 cars identically, differences in how drivers race each vehicle (the first car may be driven to hold position, the second for all-out performance), or just to throw something different at the racing world.
Either way, it will be as unique as the sight of drivers sprinting to their cars at the 24 Hours of LeMans back in the day.
More Formula-E to come as the Road to London begins on September 13, 2015.
